The Hong Kong Disneyland Resort will open a new themed land inspired by the hit movies "Frozen" and "Frozen 2" to the public on Nov. 20, according to the resort.

Disney CEO Robert Iger told the opening ceremony on Thursday that the global influence of "Frozen" is evidence of the storytelling expertise of the Walt Disney Company, which is a cornerstone for the firm.

The "World of Frozen" puts a number of iconic scenes in the "Frozen" movies to life, including the "Ice Palace" and Arendelle Castle, home of the royal family in the film.

The new land perfectly integrates Hong Kong's Lantau Island's natural landscape with the design of "North Mountain", providing guests with expansive views of both. Guests can also take rides themed under "Frozen", and immerse themselves in iconic music from the movies.

The new themed land is part of the theme park's latest expansion, bringing the number of themed areas to eight.

Peter Gao, business development director for the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, said he hopes the new themed area will attract tourists from all over the world to Hong Kong and create new opportunities for Hong Kong's tourism industry.
